Tourism - Things to do in Nova Scotia

Cabot Trail

Cabot Trail is located on Cape Breton Island.  This is one of the most beautiful scenic drives in the world.  The Cabot Trail winds around the rocky splendor of Cape Breton's northern shore.  The magnificent highway is carved into the sides of mountains rising above the glistening waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Destination for all seasons.

Bay of Fundy

Witness the highest tides in the world. Measuring highs of 16 metres, that’s as high a 4 story building. At low tide comb the beach for amethyst stones and other jewels.  You’ll be greeted by flocks of shorebirds.  Enjoy the hiking trails and scenic drives, take a powerboat tours canoeing ride, come and discover the Bay of Fundy.

Halifax

Nova Scotia’s capital. Halifax has a lot of heart.  Put your comfy shoes on and explore Halifax.  You will find international restaurants, galleries, museums, sidewalk cafés, plenty of waterfront and historic sites to admire. The harbour is truly entertaining as the ship traffic is directed.  Enjoy a boat tour of the harbour.

Lunenburg

This warm, charming and unique town is rich in heritage. Home to the most famous Canadian tall-ship, the Bluenose II. Every detail of Lunenburg’s economy, culture, and its appeal as a place to live and work is definitely related to the town’s status as a working waterfront community.

The Beaches

There are more than 100 beaches to sink your feet in.  Choose from inland beaches on fresh water lakes or bask in the salty breeze along the seacoast.  You can experience Nova Scotia's rugged coastline or "catch a wave", on the world class surf.  Discover and explore the coastal scenery as well.

Fishing Villages

Fishing is the way of life in Nova Scotia.
Enjoy scallops, lobster, salmon and tuna.
Choose any of the fishing villages and dine on some
absolutely wonderful fresh seafood.  Leave your
fishing rod at home, there's plenty to be had.
